Kingdom Death White Lion Armor (#1)

First of the Kingdom Death minis I got from 1.0.  I just got the White Lion armor sprue.  Not quite what I was hoping for so I did a simple zenithal prime + inks for the majority of the mini.  I used one of the included KD bases since her stance is so wide.

02815: Pillar of Good

I’ve built up quite a large collection of half-done miniatures so I’m trying to knock out a bunch of them.  I think I started this over 2 years ago, although all I did was a wash over white.  I went back to white and started over, but didn’t spend that much time – a wash, then drybrush stone colors over it.  (should have done a stone base coat instead of white).  Then a little bit of colors with the flower and done.

Onyx, Master Assassin

Onyx was sitting on my workbench for a while, so I finished her up.  I started working on the teal, and just kept going.  She went to a weird place – way brighter than I originally intended, but she’s done and she looks fine.  She was a freebie anyway, so it’s not like I lost anything painting her weird.  The pose is pretty cool (ridiculous, but that’s par for the course with Raging Heroes), and I thought about using her for Legion of Everblight, but there wasn’t a particularly close character she could represent.  It was also nice to have a change of pace from red (Khador) and desaturated blue (LoE).

Iron Fang Pikemen/Black Dragons (Unit #2)

My second “speed painted” unit of Iron Fang Pikemen (with magnetic standard, so they can be Black Dragons, too).  All symbology has been removed from these guys so they won’t have the “wrong” shield.

As with the unit of Black Dragons, I relied heavily on the airbrush to do shading, and skipped a lot of the little details.  A couple of 1/32 magnets are holding each standard in place.

Although I decided on the color scheme independently of this, I am just imagining these guys showing up in the war for Llael, as “patriotic volunteers” who are equipped with Khadoran military equipment and speak Khadoran, but who are totally not Khadoran regulars, even when they accidentally take geotagged selfies of themselves inside Llaelese territory or blow up civilian airliners.
