03506: Egyptian Priestess (Project M)

Sculptor: Bob Ridolfi

I fished this cute girl out of the Box o’ Goodwill from the Reaper forums, so it’s only right that she make her way back to another forum member as an exchange mini for Secret Sophie 2016.  Tricksay wanted to receive “open to anything”; I love when people pick that, because I can just paint whatever I feel like.  Thanks to Bonwirn for giving me a bunch of Hirst Arts blocks to make the diorama out of.

After I took these pictures I realized: OMG, you can’t even see the rear half that I spent so much time on.  Despite the chance of ruining the mini, I carefully drilled a magnet hole through the bottom of the base so she can be removed.  I threw in a gaming base as well for picture taking purposes, and just in case Tricksay ever wants to use her in a game.  I was joking with my friends at paint day that “no, those are her adventuring clothes; convenient necklace, weird skirt-thong and all.”

60088: Cleric of Urgathoa

This post will be delayed, because she’s a boss my players will fight soon.  Fairly quick job, mostly letting the airbrush do the hard work, then glazing over with inks and translucent paints.

Pictures taken with my other camera (the point-and-shoot).  For some reason, it picks up white dots everywhere.  I think it’s something about my matte sealer.  In hand, it looks more like the cell-phone pictures.

A gift for my friend who is hosting a July 4th party.  This is an NPC in his game – I’ll try to get him to post a backstory or something.

Kainsen says:

She is a part of my homebrew D&D campaign world. Her name is Nimela and she was born at the dawn of civilization when the seven gods walked the land among the races they created. The gods had a strict plan, however, and instituted Absolute Order on their people which compelled them to live their life the way the gods’ designed. With free thought and free will when not actively controlled, Nimela joined a secret order that wished to overthrow the gods and take control of their own lives. The order ended up creating a new god, Asmodeus, who immediately turned about 95% of the population into the less-civilized races (orcs, goblins, demons, etc) and war commenced. Eventually the seven gods retreated to the Astral Plane, sealing it off from the Prime Material, and Asmodeus retreated to the Abyss to allow life to continue on its own.

Nimela and her remaining companions kept watch over the world for a while and eventually decided to go into stasis, leaving only one of them to slowly trudge through time the long way. The PCs ended up finding her still in stasis after over 10,000 years with her companions suspiciously absent. The PCs are afraid of her as she openly worships the one evil god, though she favors the chaos and death domains and not the evil one.

Her weapon is a great maul because I don’t enjoy the dark D&D settings, I always imbue a bit of anime-style light-heartedness in my campaigns. 🙂

Aldon Oathkeeper, Paladin

I finished up J’s dwarf character for our new 5E campaign.  I don’t remember what his name is, but he’s a dwarven cleric of [the only diety in the game].  He is something of a fop, and also has impeccable hair.  I purposely left the gloss coat on his hair and metallic parts to represent this.  I kicked this guy out quickly and had fun doing so, I think because there was no real pressure on me.

Scardova Characters – Update 1

I started playing in a new 5E campaign run by one of my friends, and dug around in my minis box for characters for some of the other players.  So far faces only, plus an undercoat for some metallics.  The characters are members of an organization nicknamed “The Browncloaks,” so I gave them each a nice brown color on a prominent field – though neither of these miniatures actually has a cloak.

This guy has the trait “Impeccable Hair” – unfortunately this miniature is partially bald, but I will make sure to make his beard amazing.

Next up is E’s human paladin, played by “Duke Gerard” from Reaper Miniatures (Bones).  He’s supposed to be older, so I have him salt-and-pepper hair and wrinkles.  The forehead wrinkles look okay, but the other ones seem kind of weird.
