Isara Gunther

My first garage kit! Garage kits were actually the first thing I wanted to paint, way back in college, but I was too afraid of trying. Partly because the kits were so expensive and partly I didn’t think I could learn to do art.

Isara is a kit based on the Valkyria Chronicles (1) character. Kid sister of the main character, mechanic and tank driver. The casting was really good, with mold lines mostly hidden and extremely minor. I didn’t need to do much cleanup (although there were also a few areas I should have done better cleanup). The resin was pre-colored, although I painted over everything anyway. There was a color guide in the instruction book that really helped pick out appropriate colors. Finally, they had decals for eyes, map and meter-thing on her belt. Overall, this was a very relaxing build and paint.
